Palestinians fired an anti-tank missile at an IDF force operating near the security fence in southern Gaza, Thursday.

One soldier sustained mild injuries and received initial treatment on site, before being taken to the Soroka University Medical Center in Beersheba.

Palestinian sources said that three bulldozers and five tanks entered the Strip, venturing some 300 meters from the fence, near the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis.

According to the Palestinians, the troops used machineguns to fire at residents' homes.

The IDF stressed that the only fire discharged was in response to the Palestinians' rocket fire.

On Tuesday IAF aircrafts targeted both a terror cell preparing to launch rockets at Israel, as well as a smuggling tunnel in northern Gaza Strip. The IDF stressed that the only fire discharged was in response to the Palestinians' rocket fire.
