Thousands of Egyptian Americans representing oppressed and persecuted Coptic Christians streamed down Washington, DC’s Pennsylvania Avenue Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Their demonstration had begun in front of the White House. It ended with a rally at the U.S. Capitol.
Copts, who traveled by the busloads from such places as Chicago, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, came to Washington to protest the brutal treatment of Egypt’s Christians and demand that the Obama administration pressure Cairo to protect the rights of non-Muslims. They also wished to call attention to congressional legislation that supports Copts and other vulnerable people groups. The demonstration was a response to an Egyptian army-led massacre of Christians on Sunday, October 9, in Cairo.
On October 9, Egyptian Christians had staged a peaceful demonstration and a march through downtown Cairo to protest the burning of a church and several Christian-owned homes and businesses in Upper Egypt on September 30. The Christian protestors were attacked by an Islamist mob near an underpass cutting through downtown Cairo. They were pelted with rocks, bricks, Molotov cocktails, and otherwise molested. Then when the Christians reached their destination, Maspero Square, Egyptian military forces were already aligned against them to quell the demonstration.
Seeming to have forgotten Field Marshall Hussein Tantawi’s recent testimony that the army would “never . . . open fire at citizens,” the army did indeed open fire on the protestors, killing twenty-one. Later, when the army was leaving the bloodbath it had created, one soldier bragged that he had shot a Copt in the chest and killed him. The Muslim crowd cheered, shouting, “This is the real Egyptian army!”
Six other Christians at the demonstration were crushed under armored personnel carriers when those vehicles deliberately plowed into crowds of protestors. A Compass Direct News Service report called the attack “the worst act of violence against Egyptian Christians in modern history.” In addition to the twenty-six people that were killed, hundreds of others were wounded by the army’s attack. The army attack left Egypt’s Christians shocked and devastated.
At Wednesday’s demonstration in Washington, the American Copts pointed out that U.S. tax payer dollars fund the tanks that killed the Egyptian Christians. Many people, including members of Congress, ask why the U.S. continues to give hundreds of millions of dollars annually in financial aid to a country with such an abysmal human rights record. Over $70 billion has been given in aid since the Camp David accords, notes columnist Mike McManus. Some of the Coptic protestors in Washington held signs declaring, “Your Tax Dollars Kill Christians in Egypt.”
Other demonstrators carried a variety of other messages. Some of the protestors held large photographs depicting the horrific events at Maspero Square. Others carried Bible verses speaking of the persecution of the Church, or messages to the world such as “1400 years of Islamic oppression: We still stand defiant!”
Many of the people carried large wooden crosses or American flags. And a few carried black wooden coffins that they placed on the sidewalk in front of the White House. Together they raised their voices in such chants for justice as, “Why, why, must we die?” “Obama, Obama, where are you?” “Coptic blood is not cheap!” and “USA, wake up!”
As the protestors had declared, Copts and other Egyptian Christians, along with Egypt’s tiny Baha’i community and tinier Jewish community, have, to varying degrees, been victims of discrimination and persecution for 14 centuries. The Copts are descendants of ancient Egyptians converted to Christianity by Saint Mark, who founded the Church of Alexandria in 43 AD. But since the Arab conquest of Egypt in 640 AD, Egyptian Christians have lived as dhimmi, second-class citizens, under Islam.
Since the Tahrir Square demonstrations and President Mubarak?’s ouster in February 2011, threats to Egyptian Christians have come from both the usual Islamic-mob-inspired-by-local-Imam-after-Friday-prayers scenario and increasingly from the military and security forces. For instance, in February of 2011, two Coptic monasteries were attacked by the army because they had built walls to protect themselves from looters and criminals set loose from prisons by anti-Mubarak rebels.
Then in March, a mob of Islamists burned down the Church of the Two Martyrs in Sool, a village south of Cairo, after the local Imam issued a call for them to “kill all the Christians.” The pastor, who was almost killed in the fire, said that the clamor of the church being destroyed “sounded like hatred.” And villagers describing the scene to Compass Direct News Service said that the mob broke into the church chanting, “Allalu Akbar,” looting it, demolishing the walls with sledgehammers, and setting a fire.
“Looters removed anything valuable, including several containers holding the remains of venerated Copts – most of whom were killed in other waves of persecution – then stomped and kicked the containers like soccer balls,” witnesses told Compass Direct. More churches and Christian properties were attacked and burned and Christians killed and injured throughout 2011, leading up to the attack at the Maspero Building.
Egypt’s Christians had hopes that the Arab Spring would be for them, as well as for Muslims. Sadly, Egypt’s transformation has increased the influence and power of Islamic extremists in the country. This is unfortunate for all, but as is evident, it is lethal for the Christians. In the words of one Coptic Christian from New Jersey to The Washington Post, “We Christians have faced Islamic oppression for 1400 years, but now it is getting much more ugly.” And they wonder what new problems Egypt’s coming elections will bring. Some even suggest that the only solution is for all the Copts to leave their homeland, but American Copts hope that the United States will help their co-religionists and other vulnerable minorities in Egypt.
So far the response of the Obama administration to the attack on the Copts has been underwhelming. An October 10 White House statement by the Press Secretary featured the typical moral equivalency also found in statements about Israel, Sudan, and elsewhere, expressing the President’s deep concern about “the tragic loss of life among demonstrators and security forces.”
The President’s statement did stress that the rights of minorities and their religious freedom must be respected. But the takeaway from the remarks was the breathtaking admonition, “Now is a time for restraint on all sides.” White House Dossier reporter, Keith Koffler, says that Obama is “not only equating the deaths of peaceful protestors and their killers, but he is suggesting that Egypt’s increasingly persecuted Christian minority should show as much ‘restraint’ as their tormentors and refrain from vigorously objecting to the growing abuse.”
There is a stronger response to the Copts’ dilemma at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue. One recent action in Congress that may help Coptic Christians and other religious minorities is a bill introduced in the House by U.S. Rep. Frank R. Wolf (H.R. 440), the co-chair, along with U.S. Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-CA) of the Religious Minorities in the Middle East Caucus in the House of Representatives.
The legislation, calling for the establishment of a special envoy to promote religious freedom of religious minorities in the Near East and South Central Asia, passed overwhelmingly in the House. Now the Senate version (S. 1245), introduced by Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO), is languishing in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. But the American Copts hope that hearings on the atrocities taking place, along with other publicity and the full enactment of the bill, will give voice and support to those who have not felt the warmth of spring in their experience of Egypt’s transformation.

A car bomb caused a powerful explosion on a Michigan street that seriously injured a father and his two sons, who are “very fortunate” to have survived the attack, which turned their vehicle into a blackened hunk of metal, a federal official said Wednesday.
Investigators were poring over what remained of the vehicle after the Tuesday evening blast, looking for clues about how the bomb was made and who might have planted it, said Donald Dawkins, a spokesman for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
“There was a lot of power behind it. The victims are very fortunate, very blessed, to be alive,” Dawkins said.
Among the things investigators are trying to determine is whether one of the victims was targeted or whether the attack was random, Dawkins said. The vehicle exploded on a tree-lined street under a highway in Monroe, which is about 35 miles southwest of Detroit.
Authorities declined to publicly identify the victims, but said they were in serious condition at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, about 20 miles south of Monroe.
The victims were lucky to survive, said Dawkins, who described the attack as a “heinous crime.”
“When you have children involved, it really hits home,” he said.
Shawn Remington, 33, said he was working outside his home when he heard what sounded like a heavy, metal Dumpster lid being slammed shut and then saw a big column of smoke.
He said when he got to the scene, firefighters were extinguishing the blaze and rescue workers were loading the victims into ambulances. He said the vehicle was “totally melted.”
“By the time I got there, there was nothing left of the vehicle,” he said. “It was down to bare metal.”
Monroe is a city of more than 20,000 that is one of Michigan’s oldest communities. It has a historic downtown and is home to furniture maker La-Z-Boy Inc.

The ATF has offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

The Annihilation of Civilizations

By the time Mohammed died in 632 AD, Islam had used persuasion and jihad to subjugate Arabia. The annihilation of native Arabic culture is Sunna, the perfect example for all times and all Muslims. Said another way, the political theory of Islam is annihilation of Kafir civilization. How well did this political theory work out in history? Is this theory of annihilation at work today?
We have records of Mohammed’s last jihad against the Christians north of Arabia. After he died, Umar, the second caliph, took Mohammed’s jihad against the Christians and developed it into a war that conquered half of the Christian world. But this conquest was only the beginning of the political transformation. Sharia law was put into place and the Christian Kafirs became dhimmis. But Umar was not able to conquer Anatolia, the site known today as Turkey. For centuries, Islam attacked Anatolia and finally took Constantinople, now known as Istanbul, Turkey.
Take a look at the demographic history of the annihilation of the Greek Christian civilization:
This demographic growth chart of Islam has many things to teach us. The first is that the process of annihilation took centuries. Some people think that when Islam invaded, the Kafirs had the choice of conversion or death. No, absolutely not. Sharia law was put into place and the Christian dhimmis continued to have their “protected” status as People of the Book who lived under the Sharia law. The dhimmi paid heavy taxes, could not testify in court, hold a position of authority over Muslims and was humiliated by social rules. A dhimmi had to step aside for the Muslim, offer him his seat, could not carry a weapon and defer to a Muslim in every way. In all matters of society the dhimmi had to yield to the Muslim. Over the centuries, the degradation, lack of rights and the dhimmi tax caused the Christian to convert. It is the Sharia that destroys the dhimmis.

Notice where the curve is headed—100% Islam, just like Arabia. Today, Turkey is 99.7% Muslim. The Christian and Greek civilization of Anatolia is gone. It is annihilated.
What is tragic is that it seems that no one knows or cares. The Fethullah Gülen Movement (Turkish Muslim Brotherhood) of today pays for Christian ministers to go to Turkey and see an Islamic tolerant country where Christians live in beautiful harmony with Islam. And the ministers come back talking about what a wonderful society Turkey is and how well Christians are treated. After all, 0.3% of the Christians are still there in wonderful Turkey.
Look at two more Christian lands—Lebanon and Kosovo. This data only covers modern times and we do not see the beginning as we did in Turkey. See where these areas are going. In short decades, Lebanon and Kosovo will be 100% Islamic and two more Kafir civilizations will be annihilated.

It is a terrible irony that some Christians look at the destruction of Christianity and say that “those” were not real Christians. Indeed, that was the first reaction to the Islamic conquest of the first Christians, condemning those “other” Christians as heretics and saying that the jihad just pruned the garden of false doctrine.
Now, look at the next two demographic growth charts:
Pakistan and Bangladesh used to be Hindu cultures. Now they are Islamic and the few Christians and Hindus left are persecuted every day. While non-Muslims make great distinctions between religions, Islam sees them all as Kafirs. Orthodox Christians are Kafirs, Evangelical Christians are Kafirs, Hindus are Kafirs and atheists are Kafirs. ALL KAFIR civilizations must be annihilated. It is Sunna.
Let us look at one last feature of these curves. Once it starts, it never reverses. Islam never retreats. Slowly, year by year, century by century, the native Kafir civilization vanishes and is never able to fight back, never reverses Islam’s gains.

There is one exception to this law—force and the acceptance of war. Twice in history Islam has been driven out in Spain and Eastern Europe.
Today we see another approach to dealing with the Islam of annihilation. We ignore the history of annihilation and say that all we need to do is love Muslims and we will live in harmony, a wonderful multicultural civilization. A history of 1400 years without a single exception to the rule of annihilation and we will repeal it with a smile and a hug. All you need is love; love is all you need; all you need is love; love is all you need. Repeat that again and again, it will make a doctrine and history of annihilation go away. Actually, the way it works is that the history is never known. It is a cliché to say that those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. It is a cliché but it is true. We have our foot on the path to annihilation today because we refuse to know history.
What is the lesson? Islam, peaceful Islam, is about destruction of all Kafir civilization. Only if the Kafirs realize the goal of Islam is annihilation of their culture, can the destruction be stopped. Islam is at war with Kafirs, and Kafirs are trying to “nice” their way out of destruction. Islam is at war, we are at nice. Mohammed has a dream that is coming true while we sleep.

Ex-Gitmo detainee and key Al-Qaeda organiser killed in Afghanistan

NATO and Afghan forces killed a former Guantanamo detainee who had become a key al-Qaeda affiliate after returning to Afghanistan, officials said today.


Sabar Lal Melma, who was released from Guantanamo in 2007 after five years of detention, had been organising attacks in eastern Kunar province and funding insurgent operations, NATO spokesman Captain Justin Brockhoff said.
A NATO statement described Melma as a 'key affiliate of the al-Qaeda network' who was in contact with senior al-Qaeda members in both Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Troops surrounded Melma's house in Jalalabad city on Friday night and shot him dead when he emerged from the building holding an AK-47 assault rifle. Several other people were detained.
A guard at the house, Mohammad Gul, said a group of American soldiers scaled the walls of the compound around 11pm and stormed the house, shooting Melma in the assault. Three others were detained, Mr Gul said.



Melma had been detained for about five days in August, Mr Gul said.
Melma is not the first former detainee to rejoin the insurgency. In 2009, the Pentagon said 61 detainees, or approximately 11 percent, released from Guantanamo had rejoined the fight. Experts have questioned the validity of that number.
About 520 Guantanamo detainees have been released from custody or transferred to prisons elsewhere in the world.

After the fall of the Taliban, Melma, 49, was given the rank of brigadier general and placed in charge of approximately 600 border security troops in Konar province, according to his military file made public by WikiLeaks.
He was captured in August 2002 while attending a meeting with U.S. military officials in Asadabad and transferred to the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay in October that same year. He was suspected of helping carry out rocket attacks against U.S. troops.
While imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay, the U.S. determined he was a 'probable facilitator for Al-Qaeda members' and was also thought to have links to Pakistan's intelligence service.
He was sent back to Afghanistan in September 2007.
NATO said in a statement that coalition forces have captured or killed more than 40 al-Qaeda insurgents in eastern Afghanistan this year.

In June 2010, then CIA Director Leon Panetta said only 50 to 100 al-Qaeda operatives continued to operate inside Afghanistan. It's not clear if Panetta was referring to commanders or foot soldiers.
In Kabul, meanwhile, a political standoff over the makeup of the legislature continued as police escorted a handful of new lawmakers into parliament despite protests from sitting parliamentarians that the new group is illegitimate.
Afghan election officials ruled last month that nine sitting parliamentarians should be replaced following a review of vote fraud allegations from last year's election.
More than 1,000 police were stationed around the parliament building Saturday in anticipation of violence, but the new lawmakers took their seats without incident, officials said.
Saturday was the first day back at work after the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr and many lawmakers had not yet returned from their home provinces.

The nine ousted parliamentarians were blocked from entering and vowed to continue to fight for their seats.
'This is a coup against the Afghan parliament and against democracy,' said Mohammad Rafiq Shaher from Herat province, one of the ousted lawmakers.
And in the southern city of Kandahar, officials said NATO forces killed a child and a shopkeeper who were caught up in a firefight between a military patrol and a gunman.
The attacker started shooting at the NATO troops and they returned fire, killing the two, said Sher Shah Yosufzai, the deputy police chief of Kandahar province.
He said he had reports that a NATO service member had also been killed in the fighting.
NATO said in a statement that one of its service members was killed in an insurgent attack on Saturday in southern Afghanistan but did not say if it was the same incident and did not provide any further details.

The group demanding an end to Muslim Friday prayers at a Toronto school is militantly anti-Sikh and anti-Muslim.

Canadian Hindu Advocacy’s director Ron Banerjee has said: “In its entire history, Islam, the Islamic civilization has invented and contributed less to human advancement than a pack of donkeys.”

He wants to “fight the Islamization of our society” and, lately, of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). He’s demanding that Valley Park Middle School in Flemingdon Park stop giving space to Muslim students in the cafeteria after lunch on Fridays.

He does not live in the area but claims to have “received many complaints from terrified Hindu students and parents (who) felt that the TDSB was so thoroughly infected with Islamist sympathies that they would suffer consequences for speaking up.”

He does not say how many parents complained. Nor does he identify them. When I asked him that by email, and also inquired how many members his organization has and who funds it, he did not respond.

“Frankly, I don’t believe what he says,” principal Nick Stefanoff says. “I’ve not had a single complaint from any non-Muslim parents. We have dozens of Hindu students and we have a great relationship with them and their parents. When the Indian cricket team played Sri Lanka in the World Cup final (in April in Mumbai), Hindu and Muslim kids came to the school at 4 a.m. to watch it together. They had a great time.”

He says that several of Banerjee’s assertions are wrong — that other kids are denied access to the cafeteria (the prayer is held after lunch when the place is vacant); that prayer is interfering with classes (all classes start on time); and that “secular education” is compromised (class content is decidedly not affected).

“I think he just makes it all up,” says Stefanoff. “He never asked me a thing. Why doesn’t he come and talk to me?”

Banerjee has speculated that the praying students may be subject to “inflammatory preaching” against Hindus. There’s no such evidence. And he himself has been quoted as conceding that “there’s no evidence that this has occurred.”

Yet he plans to picket the school just when the Muslims begin praying in the new school year. “Let’s see how much praying they can do with our loudspeakers. . . . If our loudness disrupts their prayers, so be it.”

Banerjee’s views echo those of extremist Hindus in India, a minority there. For example, he thinks India’s ruling secular Congress Party, “which depends heavily on Muslim votes,” is “a curse” on that country. Congress led India’s struggle against British colonial rule and has been elected more times than any other party since 1947.

Joining Banerjee’s crusade are the fundamentalist Christian Heritage Party, the Jewish Defence League (JDL) and the Canadian Muslim Congress. The latter is notorious in the Muslim community for attacking fellow-Muslims and being the darling of Islamophobes and right-wing media.

In January, when the JDL made common cause with a racist British group, the English Defence League, Banerjee was at their Toronto rally, which was opposed by the Canadian Jewish Congress. Bernie Farber, then CEO, said: “When extremists come together, we all too often get a combustible reaction. . . . Using the tactics of hooligans, whether from the right or the left, is appalling.”

Banerjee is also in bed with a handful of Canadians who are fans of Dutch anti-Muslim politician Geert Wilders. When they held a rally for him in Toronto last year, Banerjee spoke in glowing terms about Wilders.

Regarding Sikhs, Banerjee applauded the separatist Parti Québécois for championing the banning of kirpans from the Quebec National Assembly. He said kirpans “can be used as deadly weapons and there have been documented cases of Canadian Sikhs injuring others using kirpans.” He, of course, did not mention that there are infinitely more documented cases of people injuring others with knives, sticks and guns.

Banerjee describes his group as the voice of “real Hindus.” Other times he claims it to be “the leading” voice for Canadian Hindus. This annoys the large and well-respected Canadian Hindu organizations, whom he keeps attacking:

“Canadian Hindu temples and groups have proven themselves unable or unwilling to protect Hindu lives, rights or property. The Canadian Hindu Advocacy was formed to address this, and our national advocacy shall continue to provide real leadership to our oppressed community, which is by far the most victimized in Canada.”

Members of a Scarborough mosque have expressed shock and disbelief that their “nice” and “humble” religious leader has been charged with a string of sexual assaults.
Mohammad Masroor, the imam at the Baitul Mukarram Islamic Society on Danforth Ave., faces 13 charges involving sexual offences and death threats relating to five alleged victims.
Police said Masroor, 48, travelled the world before settling in Toronto in 2008, and believe there could be more victims, here and abroad.
Abdur Rouf Tarafdar was one of more than a dozen people who vouched for Masroor’s pious character as he left afternoon prayer on Wednesday.
“I know him. Behind him I pray,” he said.
Abdul Fattah Aboud, an imam at the Baitul Aman Masjid mosque a few blocks away, said the father of five used to wave as he passed by on his way to prayer.
“Is it possible? Someone like him?” he said. “He’s a very well respected person in the community.”
Det. Const. Karen Armstrong said Masroor used his position of leadership “to his advantage.” She said Masroor, who teaches in the mosque as well as in private homes, knew the alleged victims.
Masroor was arrested Aug. 10 after a three-week investigation that is still ongoing. The assaults allegedly occurred between Nov. 1, 2008 and July 28, 2011.
“The victims are both male and female,” Armstrong said. “We believe there are other victims as (the accused) has lived and worked worldwide.”
Masroor taught in Florida, Michigan and Bangladesh before coming to Canada, according to police. He has also lived and taught in Germany, France, Hungary, Singapore and Sri Lanka but police said the investigation is not limited to those areas.
Toronto investigators have yet to speak with foreign police forces about the case, Armstrong said.
Members of the mosque were especially upset that the allegations come during the holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims fast during daylight hours.
“For a Muslim, this is very shameful. We really condemn it,” said Muti Mughal. “I still don’t believe it.”
Police said Masroor is being held in custody, and that a publication ban is in place. 

Muslims wonder why so many muslims are on the NO-FLY list?

The calls have reached a point of repetitive regularity for muslim civil rights lawyer Gadeir Abbas: A young muslim-American, somewhere in the world, is barred from boarding an airplane. (And this is a bad thing, because why?)

The exact reasons are never fully articulated, but the reality is clear. The traveler has been placed on the government’s terror watchlist—or the more serious no-fly list—and clearing one’s name becomes a legal and bureaucratic nightmare.
On Monday Abbas sent letters to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and FBI Director Robert Mueller requesting assistance for his two most recent clients. One is a resident of Portland, Ore. who is trying to fly to Italy to live with his mother. The other, a teenager and U.S. citizen living in Jordan, has been unable to travel to Connecticut to lead prayers at a mosque.
“All American citizens have the unqualified right to reside in the United States,” Abbas wrote Monday in a letter to secretary of State Hillary Clinton seeking a change in status for the client in Jordan.
Abbas, a lawyer with the Terrorist Front Group CAIR Council on American-Islamic Relations, tries to piece together the reason why a client has been placed on the list. (Gee, let me guess) Perhaps a person has a similar name to a known terrorist. Maybe their travels to Yemen or some other Middle East hot spot have garnered suspicion. Maybe they told the FBI to take a hike when they requested an interview. (All valid reasons to keep muslims off planes)

Ultimately, though, the reasons are almost irrelevant. From Abbas’ perspective, the placement on the no-fly list amounts to a denial of a traveler’s basic rights: U.S. citizens can’t return home from overseas vacations, children are separated from parents, and those under suspicion are denied the basic due process rights that would allow them to clear their name. (Good!)
Abbas describes the security bureaucracy as Kafkaesque, a labyrinthine maze of overlapping agencies, all of which refuse to provide answers unless they are threatened with legal action. One lawsuit is still pending in federal court in Alexandria, Va. That case has followed what has become a familiar pattern: Abbas either files a lawsuit or exposes the case to public scrutiny through the media, and within a few days the individual in question is able to travel. Government officials then ask a judge to dismiss any lawsuits that were filed, saying the cases are now moot.
“The amount of people who experience tragic, life-altering travel delays is significant,” said Abbas, who estimates he gets a call at least once a month from a Muslim American in dire straits because their travel has been restricted. (Life altering? Dire straits? Oh please, so what if they miss their pilgrimage to Mecca?)
Government officials, of course, see it differently. They say they have a Traveler Redress Inquiry Program that lets people wrongly placed on the no-fly list, or the much broader terrorist watchlist, fix their circumstances. More broadly, the government has argued in court that placing somebody on the no-fly list does not deprive them of any constitutional rights. Just because a person can’t fly doesn’t mean they can’t travel, the government lawyers argue. They can always take a boat, for example. (Or a camel)

“Neither Plaintiff nor any other American citizen has either a right to international travel or a right to travel by airplane,” government lawyers wrote in their defense against a lawsuit by another of Abbas’ clients. The teenager from Virginia had found himself stuck in Kuwait after suspicions about has travel to Somalia apparently landed him on the no-fly list.
Exactly how many people are on the government’s lists is unclear. Some of the most recent estimates, from late 2009, state that about 400,000 individuals are on the “watchlist,” which requires a “reasonable suspicion” that the person is known or suspected to be engaged in terrorist activities. A much smaller number—about 14,000—is on the “selectee list,” meaning they will likely have to undergo rigorous screening to travel. And officials estimated that 3,400 individuals, including roughly 170 U.S. residents, are on the no-fly list.
Michael Migliore was told by security officials last month that he is on the no-fly list after he tried to take a flight from Portland, Ore., to Italy following his college graduation. Migliore, 23, a Muslim, suspects he was placed on the no-fly list after he refused to talk to the FBI without a lawyer in November 2010, when the bureau was investigating an acquaintance charged in a plot to detonate bomb at a Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Abulrub’s father, Jalal Abulrub, suspects his son has come to the attention of U.S. authorities because of his own writings. Jalal is a Salafist scholar who has sometimes written provocative articles and antagonized Christian evangelists he believed were disrespectful to Muslims. While Jalal says his family is Salafist—generally considered a fundamentalist sect of Islam—he is quick to point out that he has a long history of writing in opposition to the ideology espoused by Osama bin laden and al-Qaida. Al-Qaeda in Yemen trying to produce explosives with deadly ricin poison

American counterterrorism officials are increasingly concerned that the most dangerous regional arm of Al Qaeda is trying to produce the lethal poison ricin, to be packed around small explosives for attacks against the United States.

NY TIMES – For more than a year, according to classified intelligence reports, Al Qaeda’s affiliate in Yemen has been making efforts to acquire large quantities of castor beans, which are required to produce ricin, a white, powdery toxin that is so deadly that just a speck can kill if it is inhaled or reaches the bloodstream.
Intelligence officials say they have collected evidence that Qaeda operatives are trying to move castor beans and processing agents to a hideaway in Shabwa Province, in one of Yemen’s rugged tribal areas controlled by insurgents. The officials say the evidence points to efforts to secretly concoct batches of the poison, pack them around small explosives, and then try to explode them in contained spaces, like a shopping mall, an airport or a subway station.
Senior American officials say they are tracking the possibility of a threat very closely, given the Yemeni affiliate’s proven ability to devise plots, including some thwarted only at the last minute: a bomb sewn into the underwear of a Nigerian man aboard a commercial jetliner to Detroit in December 2009, and printer cartridges packed with powerful explosives in cargo bound for Chicago 10 months later.
“The potential threat of weapons of mass destruction, likely in a simpler form than what people might imagine but still a form that would have a significant psychological impact, from Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula in Yemen, is very, very real,” Michael E. Leiter, who retired recently as director of the National Counterterrorism Center, said at a security conference last month. “It’s not hard to develop ricin.”
The ricin plots believed to be emanating from Yemen are the latest example of terrorists’ desire to obtain and deploy unconventional weapons in attacks. In 1995, the Aum Shinrikyo cult released sarin nerve gas on underground trains in Tokyo, killing 12 people and injuring more than 5,000, and nearly paralyzing one of the world’s leading economies for weeks.

August 3rd was a big day and a great day for Western Civilization. The Maidenhead Planning Committee refused planning permission for a £1.5 million Islamic Community Centre next to the already gigantic mosque.

The main reason for refusal was the hopeless parking problems, but we advanced two more arguments.First, that this carbuncle would domineer the area and overlook its neighbours, particularly (surprise, surprise) the Church next door.

It’s that time of year again. Considering Ramadan is known as the month of jihad and victory in Islam, shouldn’t the NYPD be protecting non-Muslims during this volatile period? via NYPD Press Release – NYPD HOSTS MUSLIM COMMUNITY AND RELIGIOUS LEADERS AT ANNUAL PRE-RAMADAN CONFERENCE.

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly welcomed approximately 400 people to the Police Department’s pre-Ramadan conference Wednesday at Police Headquarters, an annual event for community members and police about the coming Muslim religious observance. Imam Mohamed Shamsi Ali of the Islamic Cultural Center of New York delivered the opening and closing prayers.

“New York is a city built on religious tolerance. Respecting each other’s faiths – and recognizing what we all have in common – are key to what makes this the world’s most diverse and welcoming city,” said Mayor Bloomberg. “Despite the incredible progress we’ve made in recent years in stamping out bigotry and racism, hate-based acts of vandalism and other outrages still occasionally occur. And last week’s terrible events in Norway remind us that there will always be extremists, and that some of them harbor violent fantasies. So we cannot drop our guard, we will not drop our guard and the NYPD never does. We want all followers of Islam in the city to have a safe Ramadan and we are going to do everything we can to ensure that.”

Wow. Did they ever make the same statement for followers of any other religion?

“The terrorist attacks in Norway last week were another reminder of the threat posed by intolerance and extremism,” Commissioner Kelly said. “Although we know of no plans against the Muslim community in New York, we’ll take whatever steps necessary to ensure a safe and peaceful Ramadan for every worshipper.”

Immediately following the July 22 car bomb attack in Oslo and subsequent shooting spree on Utoya Island, the Police Department heightened patrols around Scandinavian consulates and major government buildings in all five boroughs. In addition, a detective with the NYPD overseas liaison program was dispatched from London to Oslo to gather information.

Any action taken since Thursday when a Muslim was arrested prior to waging jihad on Fort Hood or the countless other arrests of Muslims planning jihad against Americans? Maybe, but none worth mentioning to the lowly infidels.

During Ramadan the Department increases foot posts around mosques and assigns patrol cars to houses of worship and select areas, as well as deploys additional anti-crime officers to deter burglaries. In addition, NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force officers visit mosques to facilitate reporting of possible bias incidents and to provide hate crime awareness training.

The Islam Tax.

Members of the NYPD Youth Cricket League, including the Brooklyn-based Pak Stallions who on Tuesday won the league championship, were recognized at Wednesday’s event, along with members of the Muslim Officers Society, a fraternal organization established in 2008.
Since 2002, the NYPD has distributed guidelines to commanders which overview the observance period and provide precinct personnel with detailed information on prayers and other activity during Ramadan.

In other words, since Muslims attacked NYC in 2001 killing nearly 3,000 people and destroying the World Trade Centers, the NYPD has given the Ummah extra protection. The NYPD has been infiltrated.

Really? So why are the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafis opposing secularists in Egypt? via Republican Presidential Candidates Egypt Strategy.

The Egypt situation sounds complicated and troubling, but it isn’t. There is no doubt that this will change the Middle East forever. History is unfolding before our very own eyes. We need to realize this and seize the moment and momentum.
The only conservatives making any sense on Egypt are Sarah Palin and Paul Wolfowitz. No one else sounds even remotely credible.

What should the republican strategy be?
If we were running for president we would focus on the following issues when asked about Egypt.

2. We support democracy. Period. People should determine who rules them, and how. We believe democracy is so precious, that we want it for all people everywhere. Not just Egypt. We would like to see the entire world convert to democracy. That is our creed, and we want it for all.

What if democracy ushers in sharia law? See point 6 below.

4. We support a free and open press. If you have freedom in the press, leaders can’t be corrupt.

False.

6. Stop fearmongering. We need to stop fearing that overly religious people will take over the world. That isn’t going to happen. People aren’t stupid. And it’s not going to happen. No Middle Eastern country wants religious rule. They are intelligent and smart enough to know that extremists are not good at running countries.

Clearly there are many people in the Middle East who want religious rule, Africa too, the U.K. and even in the U.S. That’s why rather than just blindly supporting “democracy” in point 2 above, it would make more sense to support those who won’t use so-called democracy to institute sharia law.

8. We will not criticize Obama and the current administration now. As Americans, the world needs to hear one voice from us. We will let this play out and see what happens. We support what our president is doing. We will offer opinions on tihs later. We know how it will end. Mubarak will be out. We don’t want to be on the losing side.

Ten people were killed in a knife attack and blast in China's ethnically-tense Xinjiang region at the weekend, state media and authorities said Sunday, in the latest bout of unrest to hit the area. A knife attack in the ancient Silk Road city of Kashgar on Saturday saw seven people killed and 28 hurt by two knife-wielding assailants.
One of the attackers was later killed in violence that erupted at a night market, government authorities said.
Hou Hanmin, spokeswoman for the government of the northwestern region, told AFP the attackers were both members of the mainly Muslim Uighur ethnic minority, adding the suspect who was still alive had been detained....
An explosion rocked city on Sunday, killing three people, including a police officer, and injuring three others, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
Police had already detained two suspects, Xinhua said, although it was not immediately clear what had caused the blasts....

Uh, maybe jihad?

According to tianshannet.com, a website run by the regional government, the suspects in Saturday's attack hijacked a truck that was waiting at a light at the food market in Kashgar, not far from the border with Kyrgyzstan. They killed the driver, ploughed the vehicle into passers-by on a nearby pavement, then got out of the truck and stabbed people at random, leaving six bystanders dead before the crowd turned on them and killed one attacker.
An English-language report from Xinhua said two blasts were heard before the incident, saying the first came from a minivan and the other was heard almost simultaneously and originated from the market....
Dilxat Raxit, a spokesman for the Germany-based World Uyghur Congress -- an exile group -- cited local sources as saying the assailants had clashed with members of a civilian force that maintains public security.
"This incident is hard to believe but must be addressed. Beijing should accept the responsibility that repression triggered this incident," he said.

Of course. It is never the responsibility of the jihadists or their allies. And as always, it is a response to oppression -- although ironically, we never seem to see this kind of behavior from the non-Muslims who suffer oppression in Muslim societies such as Egypt, Pakistan and Indonesia:

Earlier this month, more than 20 people were killed in a violent clash with police in the remote city of Hotan.
State media quoted an official in Xinjiang as saying that clash was a "terrorist" attack, adding that four people including a police officer were killed when a crowd set upon a police station.
But Uighur activists called it an outburst of anger by ordinary Uighurs and said security forces beat 14 people to death and shot dead six others during the unrest.

Here is a more realistic account of what happened there.

In the nation's worst ethnic violence in decades, Uighurs savagely attacked Han Chinese in the regional capital Urumqi in July 2009 -- an incident that led to retaliatory attacks by Han on Uighurs several days later. The government says around 200 people were killed and 1,700 injured in the violence, which shattered the authoritarian Communist Party's claims of harmony among the country's dozens of ethnic groups.
China threw a huge security clampdown onto Xinjiang after the violence, and many Uighurs are enraged by the arrests and alleged disappearances of people rounded up across the region in the aftermath....

For four weeks the 28 children have had to stay indoors in the kindergarten
that is adjacent to a synagogue in Oslo. The decision was made in meeting
between the security personnel of the synagogue, Police Security Service
(PST) and parents.

Kindergarten manager, Anne Stine Mazrachi, is afraid that something
unpleasant may happen. During the war in Gaza, Hamas announced that Jewish
institutions and Jews all over the world are targets of their revenge. The
kindergarten is part of the congregation and synagogue. We have drawn the
conclusion that it is not safe to let the kids out, said Mazrachi to Dagen
Magazine.

Anne Stine Mizrachi thinks it is sad that people are not able to differentiate between being a Jew and Israel’s policy at any time. She is also concerned about the children.

"Norway, a country that used to be very pro-Israel, has turned into one of the most anti-Israel countries in Europe today," within both government and public opinion.

That's according to Dr. Asle Toje, a researcher at the BI Norwegian School of Management and foreign policy adviser to the Progress Party of Norway (Fremskrittspartiet).

Toje is a staunch advocate of Siv Jensen, chairwoman of the main opposition Progress Party, who has recently come under fire for her pro-Israel stance. Following her appearance at a pro-Israel rally in Oslo on January 8, Jensen began receiving death threats, and is now under 24-hour security supervision.

"I have never experienced this kind of hatred in Norway," said Toje, who was present at the demonstration. "There were people throwing stones at and spitting on rally-goers. Afterward, people carrying Israeli flags were randomly attacked in the streets."

Along with expressions of support for Israel, speakers at the rally, including Jensen, called for aid to be distributed in Gaza and for a cease-fire agreement to be signed. "It was a peaceful rally," said Toje. "Jensen was calling for the same things as Barack Obama. The difference is that she was doing it in Norway. The environment here is different."

The Socialist Left Party (Sosialistisk Venstreparti), which is part of the current coalition, has proposed a number of boycotts against Israel since the government was formed in 2005.

Israeli/Nazi comparisons and anti-Semitic incidents are now commonplace, Toje said.

On January 21, Etgar Lefkovits reported in The Jerusalem Post on an e-mail sent out by Trine Lilleng, a senior Norwegian diplomat based in Saudi Arabia. "The grandchildren of Holocaust survivors from World War II are doing to the Palestinians exactly what was done to them by Nazi Germany," Lilleng wrote.

Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Labor), in his recent memoir, To Make a Difference, makes an implicit comparison, noting, when writing of Hebron: "Most of the shops have been shut down. The shudders have been bolted and are marked by signs from the Israeli police. They are marked, as other shops have been marked at other places and at other times."

In August 2006, Jostein Gaardner, an esteemed Norwegian author and a friend of Støre's, published an op-ed in the Aftenposten daily under the headline, "God's chosen people."

Gardner wrote, in reaction to the Second Lebanon War, "We don't believe in the notion of God's chosen people. We laugh at this people's capriciousness and weep at its misdeeds. To act as God's chosen people is not only stupid and arrogant, but a crime against humanity. We call it racism."

A week later, Gaarder penned another op-ed, expressing his "regret if I have hurt anyone - though I intended and still intend to be harsh in my critique of the State of Israel."

In September 2006, 10 shots were fired at an Oslo synagogue, but no one was hurt. The shooter, Arfan Bhatti, "wished to kill women and children coming out of the synagogue,"Aftenposten reported.

On June 2, 2008, Bhatti was acquitted of terrorism charges and convicted of "aggravated vandalism." He is now serving an eight-year prison sentence.

Norway's approximately 1,500 Jews, who live mainly in Oslo and Trondheim, have experienced a fair amount of anti-Semitism, Toje said.

Airlift them to Israel. Norway does not deserve any Jews.

A young girl writes to Aftenposten, asking when anti-Semitism will end. One thing is for certain, it won’t end unless we take it seriously.

The letter is published in Aftenposten under the title “Jew – a swear word“. Summary: A teenager tells of how the word “Jew” is used as a swear word, even by her friends. She also tells of how visiting relatives were turned down – twice – when trying to take a taxi to the Synagogue, where they were going to attend a Bar Mitzva.

Reports like this have been coming in for a long time.

It does not help when people like Trond Andresen, an academic at prestigious NTNU university, marches in the streets carrying placards saying that all this talk of anti-Semitism in a derailment tactic. The only people being derailed are elderly Jews trying to go to a Bar Mitzva, for God’s sake.

The Jewish graveyard in Sofienberg Oslo has been vandalised. Many graves have had Nazi symbols painted on them. The vandalisme took place on Thursday. The case has been reported to the police. On one of the gravestones "The war continues" was written.

This is a Swedish blogger posting about an incident in Norway. The blogger comments that the cemetery is in a Muslim area. The blogger suspects Muslims and comments that the Norwegian press and police suspect Neo-Nazis.
Either way, it's the same thing. -- it's despicable. And the world permits it. The police prefer 'neo-nazis'; they will never say it is Islamic anti-semitism.

2009: OSLO: ANTI-ISRAEL RALLY TURNS VIOLENT

I just attended a pro-Israel rally in downtown Oslo (the capital of Norway). The terrorists and radical socialists were surrounding the fenced-in area where the peaceful assembly took place, chanting their vicious slogans and throwing eggs. The situation escalated as they began throwing bottles and rocks, then ultimately firebombs, injuring numerous senior citizens. They're still creating havoc in downtown Oslo, which is practically blanketed in teargas. They're all marching on the Israeli embassy now. You can watch some of it unfold here:

Despite the horribly biased media, which tends to favor Hamas in the name of so-called "solidarity", I trust more Norwegians will start to realize which side represents civilization and life, and which side represents barbarism and death, in this conflict.

2011: Norway: ALL Rapes In Past 5 Years Committed By Muslims


My G-d, they have given over their wives and daughters so as ..... not to offend Muslims. Counter jihad bloggers have been blogging for years on the rape epidemic by Muslims in Europe. and still, it gets worse.
Add "non-Western" to the long list of codewords like "youths".... "asians"...."immigrants" for Muslims. For the PC Dhmmi media and elites to taint all immigrants with this is outright xenophobic. We can't say "Muslim terrorist," but "rapist immigrant" is OK.
One 12-year-old rape victim was told by her Muslim rapist, "He said he had the right to do exactly as he wanted to a woman." Mind you, he is saying this to a 12-year-old. "Why?" "Because that is how it was in his religion. Women did not have rights or opinions, he was in charge."
This is madness. Consider that Lars Hedegaard was on trial for "racism" for speaking of the sexual violence against Muslim females in a private conversation. And the priest Jesper Langballe was last year fined 5000 dollars for publicly backing up Hedegaard's opinions.

Sexual harassment has become a part of everyday life here in Oslo, and I would never dream of going home alone after dark in this city. That is an invitation for rape.

Once upon a time a woman could walk home at any time of the day or night, and she would be completely safe. But that is a long, long time ago. Jew Hatred in Norway: Part II
Both in Oslo and Bergen there are demands for full academic and cultural boycotts of everything connected with Israel. The boycott is supposed to be far reaching. Yesterday the prestigious Holberg prize was awarded to Frederic Jameson. Exactly two years ago it went to Shmuel N. Eisenstadt of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. That enraged the author of this autumn’s new boycott booklet, Ebba Wergland, prompting her to write an article in the academic paper Replikk. She wrote that he should never have received the prize, since he was an academic representative of the Israeli “apartheid state”.

The thought is horrible: An independent awarding of prizes based on academic merit should be subjected to political considerations thereby isolating independent researchers.

It's not a "political consideration", it is deep hatred and jealousy of the Jews. "Israel" the Jew haters argument to an age old hate. "Political" is the cloak of their deception.

This would mean the triumph of irrationality over reason. It would also mean the end of debate, and that the beginning of black and white thinking has taken over in which the perpetrator and the victim have been defined once and for all. Those who boycott thus act as absolute judges.

Increasing acceptance
Valner explains that he lived through anti-Semitism before the Second World War, and he felt the consequences when large parts of his family was sent to Auschwitz.
He is starting to see signs that anti-Semitism is spreading in Norwegian society.
“You can say more on television than before, and the newspapers are full of unbalanced Israel criticism which we are not allowed to answer. There are still more coming, step by step,” he says.
The financial crisis makes him more worried.
“History tells us that Jew-hatred flourishes in bad times. That is why I charge TV2 and Otto Jespersen now, to get some focus on this,” says Kurt Valner.

2009: JIHAD ON THE JEWS: Something rotten in the state of Norway

On Saturday there was another demonstration in front of the Parliament building, this time with children in "bloodsoaked" clothes at the front of the march. In spite of several brutal confrontations outside the Israeli embassy Basim Ghozlan, leader of the Islamic Union, urgfed the demonstrators to proceed to the embassy where police were waiting. The children suddenly found themselves sandwiched between police barriers and the surging violent demonstrators pushing from behind. Panic ensued.

Police detained 160 people, most of them young people of Middle Eastern/North African origin. Three kids - 12 to 13 year olds - told how they had been led by a hard core to smash seven MacDonald's restaurants. Then the cry rang out: "To the university to chase Jews."
One should think that the papers woud be full of denunciations and shock that Jews are once again fair game in the streets of Oslo. The last time was under the German occupation during World War II. But there is a strange silence. A few innuendos: "We deplore expressions of racism" etc. But no real shakeup. Why not?

One answer: There is no firewall between criticism of Israel and antisemitism and one is afraid of criticizing the Muslims. An inverse situation: unchecked criticism of Israel, and very timid critcism of Muslims. The situation is not unique in Europe, but seems to deteriorate quickly. Norway resident convicted of blasphemy
A Kurdish author with asylum in Norway was sentenced in absentia in Iraq last month to six months imprisonment for blasphemy.
Two years ago author Mariwan Halabjaee wrote "Sex, sharia and women in the history of Islam". Here he wrote that the prophet Mohammed had 19 wives, married a nine-year-old when he was aged 54 and that he took part in murder and rape. Last month a court in Halabja convicted him of blasphemy in absentia.
Halabjaee has lived in hiding in Norway for one and a half years. The sentence states that he should be arrested upon his return to north Iraq but he has now been granted asylum in Norway, newspaper Bergens Tidende reports on its web site.
The writer has had 14 books published. Halabjaee says that he has received a series of death threats and that there is a fatwa saying he should be punished by death unless he asks forgiveness.
Halabjaee also believes Norway is naive about radical Islamist groups that he says authorities allow to develop without control on Norwegian soil.
"Norway has protected me against the terrorists and I hope to be able to play a role in this democratic system. But I am alone and feel imprisoned. I have little contact with people and have to move carefully. Even if I have lived here a year and a half no cultural or other organizations have contacted me," Halabjaee says.

2007: Email from Norway

I am running an email I received from an Atlas reader in Norway. It is devastating in its


matter-of-factness.

Well, yes, the situation is worsening. Stepping up from 29 000 immigrants every year, in 2007 we will be getting a total of 35 000 immigrants from somalia, iran, iraq and afghanistan. The nations capital is already 50% muslim, and they ALL go there after entering Norway. Adding the 1.2 births per woman per year from muslim women, there will be 300 000+ muslims out of the then 480 000 inhabitants of that city.
Orders from Libya and Iran say that Oslo will be known as Medina at the latest in 2010, although I consider this a PR-stunt nevertheless it is their plan.
From Israel the hordes clawing at the walls of Jerusalem proclaim cheerfully that next year there will be no more Israel, and I know Israel shrugs this off as do I, and will mount a strike during the summer against all of its enemies in the middle east. This will make the muslims worldwide go into a frenzy, attacking everyone around them.
We are stockpiling and caching weapons, ammunition and equipment. This is going to happen fast.
Before, I thought about emigrating to Britain, Israel, USA, South Africa, etc. for taxes and politics, but instead (although I believe we are the very last generation on earth before the return of God) I will stay and fight for the right to this country and indeed the entire peninsula, for the God-fearing people, just in case this isn't the end of the world after all. Doesn't hurt to have a backup plan.
It's far from impossible to achieve, after all my people has done it every time before, in feats that match the ancient greek, hebrew and british "legends".
Oslo and the southeast may fall easily, but there are other lines than "state"-borders drawn across this country since long before there was even a single muslim in the world, and we have held them this long, against everyone else too. We are entering a new golden age for my people, and those of a handful other countrys, but only through struggle.
